  • The Agile Munich Agenda for 2019

Agility at Scale? Not without the supporting functions!

Supporting functions such as HR, Finance & Control or Logistics are deeply committed to keeping the organization around them healthy and well-serviced. When that organization starts working Agile, the relationship between the supporting functions and their stakeholders changes. Their services are valued differently, a new kind of performance is expected, and the conventional approach may come under pressure. This relationship - between supporting functions and the increasingly Agile organization - is the core theme for 2019’s Agile Munich, Germany.

Incrementor and Gladwell Academy welcome Agilists and many other professionals to this enlightening event.

    Voices from the field

"Despite the inherent complexity, it is only when the supporting functions adopt business agility that transformations accelerate. Respondents to the survey have identified Finance, HR and Compliance as the three most important areas for their business Agility transformation."

    - Business Agility Report, 2018

"Because HR touches every aspect—and every employee—of an organization, its agile transformation may be even more extensive (and more difficult) than the changes in other functions."

    - Harvard Business Review, 2018

    Who should attend?

We're aiming for a heady mix of business leaders, professional Agilists and of course professionals from the various supporting functions: HR, Learning and Development, Finance & Control, Marketing...

The event starts with talks, followed by an Open Space in which the speakers participate (so that you can interact with them) and finishes with an optional Master Class.

    Why you should go

    • Better than any formal training. Get tomorrow's training from today's leading voices.
    • Connect with expert speakers in the field of Agility and Agile Organizations.
    • Learn from Agile companies such as BOSE. Their move into a tribe structure has scaled Agility throughout their entire organization.

    • Unique fun and interactive Warm-Up evening with Niels Pflaeging.

  • Cool stuff

Open Space, Workshops and Lightning Talks.

    Open Space

A massive amount of learning. Many different sessions to choose from.

If this is the first time you are attending an Open Space event, you will not only learn about Leading your Agile Transformation, but also see a powerful tool to conduct meetings of pretty much any size.

Often nicknamed as “Unconference”, the style and format of an Open Space event is uniquely different. Through pure self-organization, Open Space brings agile values to life and it does not come as a surprise that the Agile Alliance created an initiative for open space adoption and hosts their own event using this style world-wide. Walk away with proceedings, an artifact that will capture our decisions, findings and recommendations.

Take advantage of the workshops delivered by the most respected speakers and trainers around

Short workshops are given around the theme of Scaling Agility. Niels Pflaeging delivers a workshop that always inspires controversy thinking - be prepared to be challenged! Another exciting workshop is in the works and will be revealed soon.

    Lightning Talks

Short presentations - different areas of interest!

Lightning talks are designed to be short presentations. Lightning talks are brief which requires the speaker to make their point clearly and rid the presentation of non-critical information. The goal of lightning talks is to articulate a topic in a quick, insightful, and clear manner. These concise and efficient talks are intended to grab the attention of the audience, convey key information, and allow for several presenters to share their ideas in a brief period of time

  • Expand your learning by following one of our several Master Classes

Stay tuned as we publish our Master Classes over the next months.

Please note that you don't have to chose now; you can do that up to one week before the event.

Our cumulative Change Management know-how can be experienced today! Learn to add the most critical Change Management ingredients to enhance your Agile Transformation.

By Katja von Bergen, Dr. Kraus & Partner

„Agile Transformation beyond mechanics - A Change Management Approach“ - Katja will demonstrate, why a Change Management perspective adds so much additional value to an Agile Transformation.

You will walk away from this masterclass:

    • …being inspired by first-hand knowledge and know-how from 30 years of Change Management experience
    • …understanding how to make emotional barriers visible and discussable
    • …learning how to accelerate a fundamental and mandatory mindset - shift in your organization
    • …laughing about persistent misunderstandings about Transformation and Change
    • …understanding the need to synchronize the Transformation of “Structure” and “Culture”
    • …knowing which kind of Change Management tools would help you to foster your Transformation
    • …comprehend, how to maximize your Change Momentum through smart communication and dialogue in your organization

Eventually, you will be amazed how much easier a Transformation can be if you combine and utilize the essential insights of both, Agile Transformation AND Change Management.

Use the power of the Liberating Structures to fuel your Agile Transformation. Use LS to further scale Agility into your organization.

By Jochen Krebs & Nils Oud

Inspired by complexity science and developed by Henri Lipmanowicz and Keith McCandless, LS helps you address some of the most challenging aspects of working together while supporting human development.

In this Master Class we explore the concept and intend of LS and how it can help you to spread Agility throughout your organization. We will learn how Liberating Structures foster more self-organization, ownership and accountability. We will be doing this by practicing them while learning about scaling agile processes. You will walk away from this masterclass with a better understanding of addressing challenges in large-scale structures AND learning about the underlying techniques. It’s a two for one; theoretical and practical, but above all fun and hands-on.

From training to taking action: Compass to scaling Agile

    By Abram Janse

Most people learn how to start an Agile transformation by attending to an offline (or on-site) training course. But after such a training, which typically lasts 2-4 days, habitual patterns of thinking and behaving haven’t changed enough to act and start the transformation. They know what scaling Agile is and why it’s important, but they don’t feel comfortable to scale Agile inside their own organization.

As alternative of first hiring others to do ‘it’ for us, Gladwell offers the Compass to scaling platform. see it as training dojo to set up your own contextual transformation plan within reach of seasoned, experienced consultants, coaches, trainers where you only pay for services actually needed.

During this Master Class you will experience this Compass to scaling platform. In quick tempo we go through experiences of how other organizations scaled Agile successfully…. and unsuccessfully. We empower your experimental thinking and action taking, drafting next steps of your transformation.

Let’s discover the evolution of transformation through education!
